Region Finals at UVA Wise

I understand wanting the Home field advantage but don't put it off as bad seating or parking when it is as good or better than GCs and much better than many other places

It is bad seating and parking for 4 teams fans to go to watch a game at. I just dont agree with it. It should be back to the way it used to be with one game played at the Higher seeds field in D1 and one game at the higher seeds field in D2. I am not saying move the games to someone elses field. Let the teams with the higher seed host like it was meant to be. I can name a few High School stadiums with better seating and some with better parking than Wise. UVA Wises seating is a joke. The parking would not be that bad at UVA Wise if one game was played there nor the seating. But it is too small to host two games in the same day. There is no facility in this area that is big enough to do that. Virginia High has the best facility in this area but is too small to host those games. I dont like it in any sport for a team to be forced into traveling when they have the higher seed.

Also the LPD tournament should have never been held out of state. As a fan I do like watching two games in the same day but I still dont think it is fair to the higher seed Regaurdless of who it is. I argued this the first year it was in place when PV and Clintwood played there and GC did not even make the playoffs.

BTW The seating at GC is for atmosphere only. A lot of teams like that type of atmosphere. GC has been doing it for as long as I remember. If other teams dont like it then try playing Volunteer or Letcher Central where both fans have to sit on one side only.

Yea, I know 16 yeard old kids love being made fun of my 50 year old men, cursed at, threatened, etc. What a great atmosphere......... GC may be the only school that is hated from Thomas Walker to Essex. I know some GC fan will say there are bad apples everywhere and there is but everybody on this board that follows high school sports closely has some story about GC's players or fans that blow any other story away from another school.

I never go to that area and have heard the same thing. That isnt the atmosphere I was reffering to. Those drunks should be run off from there and I still dont know why they are still there.

If GC's excuse for having to sit GC fans on the visitor's side, they need to put bleachers in the back of the end zones. They'll never do it, cuz then they wouldn't have an excuse, but anyone with half a brain knows that's an obvious solution to the problem.

They actually put some in next to the field house and they have been full every home game.:D
